Joon partners with Valorant to provide mental health care for indigenous teens.

Supporting Rural and Indigenous Teens and Young Adults

There are millions of rural and indigenous people across the US who lack access to quality mental health care. Studies show indigenous people have disproportionately higher rates of mental health problems such as suicide, post-traumatic stress disorder, violence, and substance use disorders.

Starting today we’re proud to announce that indigenous teens and young adults across the country will have access to industry-leading mental health support and services through a new partnership between our platform and digital health and technology marketplace, Valorant Health. Through Valorant Health’s AI-enabled matching services and ongoing partnership with Indian Health Services, indigenous teens and young adults have access to Joon’s online mental healthcare platform and model of care, which combines engaging app content and one-on-one online counseling with therapists specializing in teens and young adults.

More than 30 million Americans live in medically underserved areas. With this partnership, more of these people will have access to high-quality mental health care. Joon will support young people from Rural Health Clinics in any state where Joon is active. Currently, that includes California, Delaware, Oregon, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington. In addition, Joon will support young people from Indian Health Services and work with people of different indigenous nations.

Joon is committed to providing inclusive mental health care which affirms the dignity, worth, and value of all individuals. We are dedicated to caring for underrepresented, underserved, and historically marginalized populations, and will support all therapists in providing culturally integrated care. We are proud to be a member of Valorant Health's AI-enabled marketplace. This is an important step toward ensuring indigenous teens and young adults across the country have access to high-quality mental health care when and where they need it.
